Christmas, already? That’s right! For everyone who has been anxiously waiting, we are pleased to announce this year’s theme is Christmas in Candyland. Our Christmas celebration will begin with the annual Lighted Christmas Parade on November 26th. Then on December 8th the celebration will continue with the annual Weihnachtsfest. We were overly pleased with the support last year and with your help this year we can continue the tradition of spreading Christmas cheer throughout Russell.
The Lighted Christmas Parade is a big tradition of Russell that brings many people to Downtown Russell. This year we are really hoping to reach out to more individuals and have a great turnout for the community this year! Civic organizations, businesses, individuals, anyone can enter into the parade – and it’s FREE!!
In addition to The Lighted Christmas Parade, Weihnachtsfest is shaping up to be a fun festive event for everyone. On December 8th there will be food and craft vendors, Santa’s Workshop, the famous Santa Giveaway, extended store hours for holiday shopping, and the Retail Christmas Promotion. We are adding 12 days of Christmas Promotion this year, everyday starting on November 26th our sponsors will have an opportunity to host a special for community members to take advantage of. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Russell during the holidays.
